WHY DREAM LIST INSTEAD OF A STORE OR A REGISTRY?

Dream List empowers you to:

1. Spread just one link to share with loved ones for life! A Wedding Registry can evolve into a Baby Registry, which can then turn into a Birthday and Christmas wish list. You can import and aggregate multiple store registries for any occasion. Feel free to register for Amazon, Target, BuyBuyBaby, BestBuy, or any other store and then share them all with one DreamList link. Next to your dream lists, soon you will also be able to share stories of adventures together (as a little thank you for visitors). So go ahead, print your dream list link on a family photo and stick it on everyone's fridge!
2. Manage shopping lists and wish lists or registries privately with one or more people. Parents and grandparents can manage lists for kids together. Couples can shop for the house together. Teams can organize a toy gift drive or a disaster recovery shopping list in seconds.
3. Add items from any store as well as bigger dreams or experiential gift ideas. A dream list surfaces what is meaningful to you and loved ones.
4. Receive contrubutions from loved ones towards a big pursuit over multiple years, to help you achieve it sooner. We don't process payments, but we do help you with aggregating contributions, ideas, notes, contributor contact information, contribution instructions, shipping addresses, and size of contributions over time, allowing you to receive the contributions however you prefer and show your progress to those who care about you.
5. Preserve your privacy and take control of the shopping influences on your wallet. Your dream lists are not indexed on search engines or even the site itself. Only those you share the list with can see it. We're parents building for our own families after all!

WHAT IS THE DIFFEERENCE BETWEEN A WISH LIST AND A REGISTRY?

Etiquette, not functionality is the major difference between a wish list vs. a registry. A registry is usually created for occasions when guests expect to bring a gift. A wish list is a list you usually create for yourself, that you may occasionally pass to friends and family, if they ask for it before special occasions. In the United States, occasions such as gift "Showers" - a bridal shower or a baby shower, are commonly accepted gifting occasions where guests prefer to bring a gift for the happy couple and a registry is requested for guidance.

A Wedding Registry is created by the happy couple to show family and friends what they still need as they build their new life together. A Baby Registry is created by the future parents, to show what is still needed to equip the home for the arrival of a baby. A Birthday Wish List, Christmas List, or a wish list for another holiday is often created by parents for little ones to share with friends and family who want to send something for the occasion. That said, adults can just as easily create and add lists for any occasion to manage as a team, to spread to others, or keep to themselves.

DreamList is a preferred site for both Wish Lists and Registries for several reasons:

1. A couple can create, add to, and manage their Wedding Registry, Baby Registry, or Wish List together.
2. Parents can create, add to, and manage Birthday Wish Lists and Christmas Lists for their little ones together.
3. Your Baby Registry can grow to become a Birthday Wish List for the little one and your Wedding Registry can grow into housewarming wish list or list of future family endevours. DreamList is a social site, which means that once you add friends and family for any occasion, they can come back and see any lists you want to make available to them in the future. Whenever they ask, just tell them to check your DreamList.
4. You can add ideas from any retailer, web site, or service that comes to your mind and even offer multiple retailers, so friends can get you the item at a better price. Since DreamList is not a retailer, we serve you, the list creator and our goal is always to help you get your dreams fulfilled. We serve you in the way we want our own family to be served.
5. Your can open major things you are saving towards, such as expensive furniture, college savings, future trips, or other major purchases for cash contributions by friends and family. You can also add gifts of help, charities you support, adventures you want to do that others can join you on, and other ideas that are permissible by law and meet DreamList's terms of service.
6. Your privacy comes first. Unlike many other wish list, baby registry, and wedding registry sites that readily give out your address and wishes to anyone who has a name, DreamList lets you restrict access to each list however you please. You can limit lists to be seen by yourself only, by administrators you invite (great for private lists for couples or teams), by your friends only, by anyone who has a link, or by anyone who searches for you, etc.
7. On DreamLists we call all of your lists Dream Lists for a reason: you can dream as big as you need to, and grow the most meaningful endeavours of your friends and family.

CAN I CREATE A JOINTLY MANAGED WISH LIST I CAN ADD TO WITH MY SPOUSE OR FIANCE?

Click on JOINT button when you are adding or editing your list and invite the people who should managed it with you in the form provided. Jointly manageed lists are perfect for couples who want to add ideas to their Wedding Registry or Baby Shower together. Parents love creating Birthday Wish Lists and Christmas Lists together as well. WHAT IS A DREAM LIST?

A Dream List is as a collection of your wishes, goals, dreams, and pursuits that you can choose to share friends and family, so they can help with, or contribute to on special occasions. You can use it as a wish list, a wedding registry, a baby registry, or just a personal bookmark collection of things you want to get and save for for yourself. We give to deepen our relationship with another person, to show love and appreciation or to make their life easier or more interesting. There are few greater pleasures in life than a thoughtful, meaningful gift, that changes someone's life for the better.

HOW DOES DREAMLIST WORK?

It is simple:

1. Create an account, so you can save things privatly.
2. Create a Dream List and add your address, and preferences for receiving gifts.
3. Add anything you are saving for, hoping to get, or wishing someone would help you achieve, including any item from the web, or larger, less defined pursuits.
4. Invite friends and family to view your DreamList privately, or make your list public and share with anyone you wish to reach through your custom link.

When a friend sees your Dream List, they can pick one or more of your Dreams and contribute. For example, they can put $30 towards your dream vacation and buy a physical gift and give $10 towards a charity of your choice for your birthday. During they Holidays, they may choose a single, larger contributuin instead. As the years and occasions go by, your friends and family can see their impact over time and you would have a lot more reasons to talk about your accomplishments together.

You can see everyone's contributions as they happen, or if they choose to, they could show you those only after your special occasion date arrives. You can easily send thank-you notes and emails with all information ready and stored for you on DreamList. You can also update everyone on your progress with each dream and celebrate together when you have gotten close enough to make the final purchase. All cash contributions go directly to you after processing by the giver's sending method of choice. Some transfer methods may incur fees or require transfer time to process.

As you continue to share and spread your Dream List with any occasion, the contributions of friends and family will continue to get you closer to even your biggest dreams. Create and share new lists any time.

WHAT CAN I ADD TO A DREAM LIST?

• Large things you are saving for, such as a downpayment for your first house, a kitchen renovation, a savings bucket for a big trip, a general bucket for buying books whenever you see a good one, or any other pursuit that is legal to the public and meaningful to you.
• Any product you can purchase on the web or in store.
• A link to an outside registry or wishlist from a retailer.
• Any charity you support and want to direct attention to.
• A Dream List item or registry of another person or organization you want to direct goodwill towards.
• Things that people can help you with, instead of giving money, such as babysiting, bringing in a hot meal, or spreading word about an important initiative.

HOW DO I ADD A WISH TO DREAM LIST?

There are several ways to add an item to your list. You can either:

Option 1. Copy a link into a new Dreamlist item on your list.

1. Visit a web page with the item you want.
2. Copy the link to that page from your browser bar (Make sure the page you want to link to is public, as internal pages on Facebook or emails would not be visible by our importers.)
3. Go to the list you want to add to on DreamList and click on the "+ Add a new wish" button.
4. Paste the link you want to add at the top of the add item form (Online Link URL) and the site will automatically import title, price and image for that item.
5. You can adjust the item to your liking. For example you can change the quantity, add a note, set a shipping address, or gift type to cash contribution, or charity, or nonmonetary activity, etc.
6. Then click save when done.

Option 2. Drag the Add to DreamList bookmarklet into your bookmarks bar add any item on the web with a click.

1. Install the DreamList Button to add items from any site on the web. Drag the DreamList button into your bookmarks bar above for every browser you use.

2. Whenever you land on a web item that you want to add to one of your Dream Lists, simply click on the DreamList Button in your bookmarks bar.
3. Now try it out. Visit the Joking Hazard game on Amazon and click your new DreamList button.

DOES IT COST MONEY TO USE DREAMLIST?

DreamList is free for you and your gift-givers. Your gift-givers purchase gifts directly from each store and are only responsible for purchase price + shipping of the gifts. When you receive cash for any of your Dream Items that are open to cash contributions, it can be sent to you via any means you and your givers find convenient - from a mail-delivered check, to hand-given cash, to Paypal, Venmo, or other means of transfer. We help you track who has given you how much and for what, so you can send thanks and so givers can see their impact, but we don't charge money for that. If you chose to receive cash contributions directly to your bank account via DreamList - we have to charge a small handling fee to process the transaction securely through major payment processors. You can chose whether you want that fee to be visible to the giver or paid privately by you, but the money goes directly to your bank account after processing. We don't hold money or payment information - those are stored and processed by the payment processor of choice. If you have questions, contact us - we would love to help!

CAN I ADD GIFTS FROM OTHER WEB SITES?

You can add any web page or product you see on the web to your Dream Lists. Just copy the link into a new item on your list. Soon we will have a Bookmarklet for adding sites with the click of a button on your browser.

CAN I KEEP MY DREAM LIST REGISTRY PRIVATE TO MYSELF OR TO FRIENDS AND FAMILY ONLY?

Yes, you can keep a list private to yourself only, or to yourself and your friends only, or choose to make it public. You can adjust the privacy on your Dream List from the edit page. Go to your Dream List and click on the EDIT button under the list's title to make change.

CAN MY PARTNER ACCESS OR UPDATE MY REGISTRY FROM THEIR OWN ACCOUNT?

You can make your Dream List registry or wishlist be JOINTLY MANAGED. JOINTLY MANAGED lists are excellent for Baby showers, Wedding Registries, Family lists, and as Parent-managed Dream Lists for children. To make a list JOINTLY MANAGED, go to the list, click on the edit button you see under the title, and add additional owners for that list. WHAT IF I HAVE WISHLISTS AND REGISTRIES WITH OTHER STORES?

You can import or just link your wishlists and registries from multiple sites into DreamList. You can also just add the items you want from those into your Dream Lists by copying their links or using the DreamList bookmarklet. To Import a wishlist from another site, copy the URL address of your wishlist or registry, then login to DreamList and enter the address in the import widget on your Dashboard. If a wishlist or registry cannot be imported, you can always link to it on your Dream List so guests can click on the link and see the registry on their own. Feel free to create as many registries with other sites as you wish - especially if you receive discounts, promotions, or a completion bonus from those sites. You can always link all gifts and registry pages from your DreamList to share with family from one easy, private, and safe location.

WHAT AM I NOT ALLOWED TO DO ON DREAMLIST?

DreamList is a online community that encourages respect for eachother and for the law. The site is currently active only for customers in the United States and as such we uphold the rules and regulations of the states we serve. We reserve the right to stop behavior and remove content or fundraising efforts that encourage violence, disrespect, damage to the property of others, illegal activity of any kind (including copyright infringement), or the support of goods, groups, behaviors, or services that would be considered violent, illegal, offensive, or hurtful. DreamList is not responsible for content generated by its users. HOW DO I SHARE MY DREAM LIST?

If your list is public, you can copy its custom sharing link under the Dream List's title. You can send that link to anyone, share it by email, social media, or print or post it to your web site. If you ever choose to change the sharing link, make sure to notify people you want to invite to that list of the change. See an example with David's DreamList. I FORGOT MY PASSWORD - HELP!

You can go to DreamList , then click the LOGIN button in the top right corner, then click the "Forgot Password Link". Enter the email address you registered with and you will receive reset instructions to the email address you registered with.
